Identity Collage
In order to begin my project, I took a picture of myself and imported it to my computer. After brainstorming my idea and composure for my final project, I began to download images of my birthplace, hobbies, and imagery of my culture. family, friends, and inspirations. I used a layer mask, which is a reversible and easy way to hide parts of an image, to add the Mexican flag to my shirt and the two images under the aqueduct. In order to make a more interesting and meaningful background, I added clouds, flowers, a hummingbird, and a group of butterflies and used blending modes, which is an effect that affects how the colors blend into the other layers.
I removed the background of all the images I used by using the object select took and then copy and paste the image without the background, then deleted the previous iteration of the image.
I used to have a white and pink rose bush in my old house, monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico during winter and could be seen all over my school and the aqueduct I used for the background is from my hometown and was near my house, so I feel a sense of nostalgia whenever I see them. I added a cloud because I often feel like my head is in the clouds, or like I'm dreaming, then Hummingbirds are seen as good fortune in my culture and bring prosperity. I find coding and art very interesting and fun, so I wanted to include the in my collage. Furthermore, I have my family, friends, and inspirations close to me because they will forever be a part of me.
I think I'm pretty happy with my project, but I wish I could have added more detail and fixed the composition a little more. I wanted to add a part in my collage that represented the way that I seem in the eyes of others, but I decided I should prioritize the important parts first.

I believe I met the standards, and I tried to exceed them. I used more than eight pictures, used layer masks, and blending modes, and tried to make my collage aesthetically pleasing.
